I've been looking for (lack of a better word) the dust cover that is on the end of the starter for my 1950 F1. You know, keeps the dirt & crud out of the starter. Been looking on line, and I can't find one. Can Anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

As far as I know, no one sells them new, and it's hard to get them out without ruining them. I don't see any p/n's for it in my book.

51.. I don't need the band.. I need the (lets call it) the end cap, where the starter drive spring end would be.

That piece could then be tack welded and then sealed to the bellhousing. |

Have never seen them available other than used, taken off a donor bell housing and then if the bell housing is installed you would have to crimp the cup from the inside of the bell housing in order to retain it.

If you have the 4-speed or an 11-inch clutch, the cast iron half bell has a metal cap on the back of the starter opening that can get damaged or fall out. You can rig a PCV pipe cap on there but you might have to get the whole casting to get the OEM metal cover. It's just a press fit in the housing.
