You will probably find that the shifter location on the S10 trans is the most suitable for your 53. I used the standard S10 in my 51, the shifter is in the ideal location

I used a Ford input shaft and a 2.95 gear set with a 0.7 5th gear. In conjunction with a machined aluminum plate adapter, I used the stock bellhousing, stock flywheel, stock clutch, stock throwout bearing, stock pilot bearing, and a readily available clutch disk for a Mustang II. Everything worked perfectly and the car was a pleasure to drive, as Ol' Ron can testify. Photos available. Last edited by Richard in Florida; 03-22-2017 at 10:14 PM. Reason: Addition |

It was a very simple and inexpensive instillation. Once you have the right transmission.

the only part I need for my s10 is a hub for the throw out bearing unless could find one would work with the stock arm other wise it will fit with the right clutch plate and pilot bearing |
