Decoding a VIN for 1961 F100 Unibody
I have been researching the VIN or S/N number on my son' F100 unibody. This is what I have come up with. Everything matches, but can't figure out the DSO numbers. The info for this came off the plate attached to the inside of the glove box and it matches what is stamped on the top of the frame rail in the engine bay.
S/N F10CR12XXXX F10 Series = F100 C Engine = 292 CID 2v (135 HP @ 3800 RPM) R Assembly Plant = San Jose, CA 12XXXX Unit Number Other info on the Plate WB 122 inches COLOR Light green, mint green MODEL F100 Trans A (3 speed, light duty) Axle 3.70 (3.3M) Max GVW LBS 05000 Certified Net HP 135 RPM 3800 DSO 654 This doesn't seem to match up with anything I have found. Does anyone know what this number translates to? |

I believe DSO stands for dealer standard order, but could be wrong. I don't think you will find anything on the truck with that number to match.

My '57 parts book shows "DSO" as "Domestic Special Order" number.
