Need AA jack handle dimensions
Hello all,
I acquired the correct ford jack for my 29 AA but of course no handle. Ive decided to make my own via autocad and a water jet. I have a pretty good looking one drawn up from pictures Ive found on the net but some measurements arent given and hard to judge. Anyone got one that can measure it for me? http://www.mafca.com/tools/AA17081_handles.jpg picture of the 3 styles - Ive replicated the middle one (wouldnt take much to make the other two - may do at a later date). Should also be noted the "1 1/4" flat steel" measurement should read 1" wide X 1/4" thick flat steel... I've got most of the measurements and I eyeballed/used geometry to find the bends are about 10* and guessed on where they measured the bend being 4" from each end. I'm just not so sure on the 3/8" hole placement - I'm sure its centered width wise but how far from the end? is it also centered (meaning center is 1/2" from all 3 sides)? Thanks - even if you have detailed pics of the ends on a straight on camera shot that would help too.

I don't have auto-cad or water jet but a welding torch and a two pound hammer worked just fine for me. I've made different handles this way.

Re: Need AA jack handle dimensions
yea I wish I had a torch then I would do it that way. This way is more fun and repetitive and less work haha.
Got the early style drawn up - takes about 20 min to cut out then some grinding and bending to make the spoon.

Re: Need AA jack handle dimensions
Any chance you want to share your CAD drawing (dwg/dxf) and save me the trouble of re-inventing the wheel? I'm helping a buddy get a old Bridgeport CNC machine up and running and this would make a fun and simple (and useful) first project for it. I carry an AA jack in my coupe and have a makeshift handle from a old grease-gun.
