'35 Ford Door Glass Bumpers (Anti-Rattle)
Good Morning!
In my quest to build my '35 Coupe, I had to purchase Garnish Moldings as it did not come with them-as they can be hard to find, I ended buying them from different sources, and, while refinishing them I noticed that some have small rectangular holes in them, and some do not- After some investigation, I found that Ford put some "anti'-rattle" Bumpers in them (I assume so that the Door Glass won't rattle-Duh)- I am perplexed, however, that some of the Mouldings have the holes, while others do not- So, here's the question-which one is better? Do I put holes in the ones that don't have them (to be able to put them in), or not? I have purchased the Vintique Door Fuzzys, and don't know which way to go-any suggestions? Here is a Link to the Bumpers: https://www.bobdrake.com/images//ite...021444_med.jpg Thank you very much for your replies! |

Re: '35 Ford Door Glass Bumpers (Anti-Rattle)
35 Ford door window glass had anti-rattle bumpers. 36 Ford use the cat whisker design with no bumpers and no holes in frame.
Roll down rear widow had anti-rattle bumpers for 35 and 36. Fixed rear window used same window frame without the bumpers installed. If you have seen door window frames without holes for bumpers, they are probably for 36 Ford. Quarter windows did not have bumpers or whiskers and mounted against the quarter window glass rubber seal. I have installed cat whisker design on my 36 Ford 5W Coupe and they work fine. |

Thank you very much for your input-so, on the '36 that you did, the Fuzzy's took care of the possibility of rattling then? (Sorry, I'm a little slow )-
You know, I wasn't aware (and hadn't looked) at my rear Window Moulding (it is a roll up)-that is some great information! |

The "fuzzy" takes care of the rattle. Door side requires small countersink screws to install while window frame requires using metal clips to hold in place.
