I must still be dreaming, for years I've always liked the 35 Ford design. Even more so than the 36, I always thought it would be my dream car if I ever had to choose only one car.
By The perfect circumstances, and a lot of help from my friends I not only found a 35, but am the proud owner of a 1935 Ford three window coupe! This one had a few mods "back in the day", but all I can live with. It has a 1940 drivetrain, including column shift tranny, hydraulic brakes, wide five wheels, 49 Mercury gauges, and a filled roof. I am seriously considering finding some original wire wheels for it, but will have to change drums at a minimum. Some holes in the floors, but repairable, and the only Bad thing is the grille took a hard hit, I think beyond fixing. I'm thinking of installing my spare running 40 motor in it, fixing the brakes, and driving it! Still ecstatic, ![]() Ralph PS: I'm looking for a decent grille if anyone knows of one. |

Ralph, Congratulations. I felt the same way when I got my 36 3wdo. It was hard to not let the seller (friend) know how I felt for fear that he would back out of the deal or up the price.

Good score Ralph, congratulations!! You are correct; 35's are just so cool. I've had mine since 1971 and never get sick of driving it.

Thank you! And thanks for the picture flip GreenMonster!
I am real familiar with the drivetrain on this, as my AV8 has 37 axle and 40/47 brakes, but I know very little about these bodies. So I'll be asking a lot of questions about this one. I'll definitely need new rear floor pans for a start. |

Congratulations Ralph! I favor the '35's as well, especially the 3w coupes, although I consider all the body style's of that year to be awesome looking.
I bought my first '35 3w in '58/'59, thanks to my Dad who loaned me the $75.00, and my second in 2014 thanks to Vic Piano who knew I was looking for another one, and found a nice one for me in the Tampa Bay area. We named it "The J.C. Whitney Special" because of all the accessories it had that looked like they could have come from Whitney......

Ralph, is it possible this is the 32 3w that was on Craigslist up there? If not did you have a look at the 32?
Congratulations on the 35! |

Yep, this is the 32. Apparently every old car is a 32 nowadays.
