The hub and drum may have more problems that account for the wheel wobble! If the garage was not very old and Ford oriented, they probably used a 3-leg puller rather than the right type that pulls from the central part of hub. Since the bolt pattern is large, the forces can actually warp the hub and crack the drum.
I once used a 3 arm puller on a junk Model A rear that I was stripping for the gears. The hub was super tight, one of the worst I have encountered, and just before it let go of the axle the drum split from all the distortion of the hub at the bolt circle.
I would bet that every dog for 5 miles around jumped when that thing split!
