My upholsterer decided to take it upon himself to improve the look of the footrests at the rear of the front seat and now can't find the old ones. Could someone give me the W & L dimensions of the footrests?

Swoop, what ever the measurement is they're both the same and smaller than what you suggest.

It's not as simple as a single L x W measurement. They're contoured to the driveshaft tunnel on one end and have a curved return to the front on the other.

Then I must have had something non-original when I got the seat as both footrests were the same size with rounded corners and four screws holding them to frame.

Here's a shot of mine on the driver's side.

My footrests are about 21"wide at the top, 19.5" at the bottom and about 8" tall. They are folded down a couple of inches on the door side. I think you would have to physically see them to make a pair.
Very nice frame detailing. I didn't put lubricant between the spring leaves, I used 'Glide-Ride' plastic and the car rides and handles excellent, no squeaks. It has 21,000 miles since completion.

Here is a picture of mine from my '40 convert.

They are 23.5" long on the top edge including the corner, and they
are stamped steel, with two 1/4" mounting bolts shown in pic.

You should PM " funrunr " as he had '40 sedan parts for sale.

That is the correct foot rest in the photo. I would think those are around as the fordor used the same ones.
