Having used many Smithy's mufflers in the 50's and 60's I can tell you the new ones are not the same as the originals. The originals had a very deep mellow tone. The news ones are quite loud.

Wow. I have the new ones, and they're too quiet. I reversed them to make them louder but made no difference. Mine are 22".
