Have the customer pay you via PayPal "friends and family". No fees for either of you.

This is where they got me, " For a small fee, you can also use a debit or credit card."

https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees Here's a quick calculator... https://salecalc.com/paypal[/QUOTE I have sold a few things on eBay recently and PayPal takes their cut (30 cents plus 2.9%) as soon as the money hits your PayPal account. If your transaction is not through Ebay, I don't know for sure if they would charge the 30 cents, but they probably will. |

It's by far the easiest way to deal with foreign currency, and cheaper than many other ways.

The most sensible way to do transactions if you don't have a charge machine..Fees are the cost of doing business and you add them in....

also remember, if doing business overseas, paypal will honor the requests of the buyer
in other words, if the buyer states they didnt recve their item, the money will be returned to the buyer at the sellers expense. Been there, done that and wont be doing it again..........! |

4 doors- paypal will refund the buyer-you wont see a dime and no, paypal wont " eat" the loss.
somebody needs to lose. paypal always errs on the side of the buyer, that's their policy as well as ebays. do 100 trades and you'll soon figure it out. |

BTW, PayPal is no different from a credit card in this respect. With a credit card, if the buyer did not receive the goods or service, or considered them mis represented, the credit card company will do the same research that PayPal does. They will credit the charge to the buyer if it is determined the buyer was correct.
In the type of case that Mike sites (proof of delivery), both PayPal and a credit card company would not refund the buyer's money.

not sure if you guys are talking stateside or overseas-overseas can be a can of worms.........
as I said, been through it several times. I wont ship overseas. in the end, not worth my time, the hassle and dealing with 8. an hour employees reading off of a card. good for you if you have time for that. |

Many years ago I had a little tussle with paypal.I bought some A parts from a guy in N.J.,I didn't receive the parts, after a couple of weeks I got one part. After weeks of trying to get a refund through paypay, they credited me with about $150.The parts were $4 or $500.All they could get out of his account was the $150.They told me that if he put any more money in there they would get it for me.He was a member of square trade, and when I asked about the buyer protection they said they had gotten all they could from him.I had actually used my personal credit card for the paypal transaction so I called the card company. They actually took the money from paypal.I didn't think that would happen, but the card company rep said in N.H.I was covered whether paypal liked it or not.My paypal buyer credit instantly dropped from whatever it was to something like $99.When my paypal card expired they didn't send me another one.Haven't used paypal since.

Is it possible to change paying a person as a business to paying them as Family or friend?
I'm well over paying fees.
