I turned the platform over, folds the same way but wood slats on top keep luggage more dry than sitting them down into a frame. Water collects around the edges and rots whatever is sitting "in" the frame out. When I was in the Army, we set all our equipment on top of pallets to keep it all dry, not down inside a pallet. If no one runs with any trunk or luggage, for show, slats showing when folded is fine....when carrying a trunk/luggage, eventually it will harm the bottom outside edges. Either way, it's bolted down as is my suitcase, the bag is strapped to the suitcase and around the back support bar. I carry nothing in the suitcase except fillers to keep it from collapsing, in the bag I car a car rain cover and luggage rain cover.

If you run with or plan to run with a suitcase bolted down, it's all for show anyway, I use a long carriage bolt X4, small enough head to seat itself into the hole provided, run it through the bottom of the suitcase and then through a 1X2X the depth of the floor of the suitcase, then put an oversized washer and then the nut. Gives a secure means of support. Those case straps you see are not holding the bag to the frame, I just have the straps looking as if it does.

It looks like the front shocks are not connected. If they are working, you might want to get some links and connect them. That will make the ride smoother. you sure have a beautiful coupe. Bill

I should have read the other posts past the first page - like the others said - connecting the shocks will improve the ride.
