Default Quail Services Battery Box/Optima battery photos

Here are six photos of the Quail Services battery box with the Optima 6 volt battery installed on my 37 Ford Tudor. The dimensions of the box are smaller than the Ford Script Battery so the battery holder doesn't fit well. There is no Ford script available although they do offer some aftermarket battery decals. The box itself looks to be an "off-the-shelf" product and the top is made to fit. It is a quality piece but not a replication or a direct replacement for the Ford Script battery. Solved my problem and I can live with it but hoped for something that fit better.

mark, i`m using the same box in my `37 1/2 ton, it didn`t fit the way i wanted so i cut the ribs out of the bottom of the box so the battery would sit deeper in the box, i may have taken a little off the top edge of the box also. anyway it fits in the truck a lot better.

The battery sits inside the box I have fine in my situation. The photo showing the side of the box was tilted and the Optima battery was sliding out a little. The fitment problem is that the battery hold down is larger than the battery box so the hold down corners don't meet the corners of the battery box itself. With longer bolts securing it, the battery stays in place. Just looks funky.

I have one of these also (I got mine from "WoodysCustomShop" on eBay), and had to do quite a bit of modification to make it fit to my satisfaction. 20 years ago, I used a Ford Script battery for a core. Live and learn.
