I’m looking for a ’38-’52 Express/ One Ton tailgate. This is a 3 raised-panel tailgate with Ford in script stamped into the middle panel; ’38-’40 tailgates would have the Ford script and a V8 stamped in the middle panel. I have nothing to work from so the best measurements I come up with are 55 ½” wide and 21 ½” high. The bed is a full 8 feet and 54” wide. I have a ’38 One Ton, and I’ve not been successful in locating the specific tailgate yet, so I decided to take the suggestions of some who are wiser than I am and look for an alternative in the meantime. Any help would be appreciated.
