When people want something (Your extra cash per gallon) they frequently fall back on the excuse that "it's the law!" Police and car parts salesmen are particularily prone to this ruse. It's hard to argue with unless your up on the laws. I had a guy tell me that it was against the law to rebuild a master cylinder. One solution is to request a copy or at least the number of that law. Police are notorious for making up law on the spot. And very often, the judges go along with it and will assess a fine on a non-existant law.

I have driven about 22k miles on mostly E 10 and no problems. When we were out west we were happy to find any gas station.
I live on a farm and keep a storage tank with non ethanol recreational gas. I do not use it in my Model A-too expensive. I do this for 2 cycle engines and long term storage. e10 goes bad quicker it seems. 2 cycles hate it.
Also I had a Ford Focus that got 40+ MPG. I did a comparison and it got 2-3 more MPG on non ethanol gas. Thats my experience so far.

Merry Christmas ,John
