Default Re: Foundry needed to cast new blocks.

Thanks to the wisdom and foresight of the EPA all foundry's in the USA have been shuttered, the last being several years ago.
I worked on a project (1995-1998) with the US government and private industry, focus was on foundries, particularly the casting of engine blocks and their emissions, took air samples for a week at a time during pouring/casting, went to several State side and several overseas Ford and GM sites, we did our own lab work and wrote our own report...summary:

US facilities were by far cleaner, producing less particulates than any of the oversea operations. Don't know why we wasted our time, their minds were made up before we left..."close all US foundries"
All new engine castings come from overseas, for the US market they are coming out of Mexico. Mexico City and Toluca complex's.
