USAF early 1960's; 109th Air Lift Group, Base Engineering Unit .... thereafter ANG. Many good fellows there. My tame experience could not compare to my HS friend Bill who was ripping thru the clouds over north Nam on the wings of death. Thankfully he made it home.
I am proud to be a descendant of a family line that provided one Revolutionary War soldier, six Civil War soldiers, two Spanish-American War soldiers, one WW1 soldier, six WW2 service "persons" (one female) who served in all branches and theaters, and living relatives who have served in Afghanistan and elsewhere. Some didn't make it home; others sustained life-long disabilities. Bless them all. |
