Default tillitson leaking

my tillitson that leaked may be fixed. heres what I did. lightly sanded with 80 grit sandpaper and followed up with 120 the two housings. then I installed a float needle with a rubber or maybe vitron tip needle. I had this from a 41 Cadillac Stromberg carb. kit for 346 engine. I also coated the gasket with sealer set he float at 1 inch. now it does not leak while running or not running with gas left on. I only ran it about 10 minutes but seems to be fixed. also left gas on about 20 minutes while not running.thanks john
