The DSM was a heavy duty coil.
Looking at that list, I think it is an exact copy of the Granatelli Recipe published in Mechanix Illustrated for Tom McCahill's Cadillac/Olds eating '49 Ford!
I bet Old Dad read that article and went straight to Granatelli with the parts list torn out of the magazine!
McCahill did this to a new '49, and for about $200 produced a car quicker than the accleration champ ('49 Olds) and faster than the speed champ ('49 Caddy) from his road tests...a very inspirational article indeed.
