We'll keep it going anyway, as there may be others looking to do the same thing. And besides which, it's fun!
Here's old shots of mine, the body was moved back to give engine room.

Whats the info on the steering box?
Is it a right hand version of an F-1/F100 style box

It's a VW Kombi box, I think in the US you call them a VW bus.
