29 Sport Coupe
Is there any way to move the driver's seat back in the 29 Sport Coupe?
I've got long legs and driving for any length of time is out of the question.

John,
Go to page 257 of the Ford Service Bulletins. It shows how to do it. Rusty Nelson |

I'm not finding them online. Are they only for purchase?

Re: 29 Sport Coupe
John, if I remember right that is the technique for removing the wood from between the package tray and body to totally under the package tray. That basically moves the front of the package tray, and therefore the seat, about 1 1/2 to 2" back.
Don't do what I did. I had a '29 Sport Coupe body that I was going to modify so that the seat was almost all the way back, i.e. remove the package tray. While I was figuring out how to attach a seat placed that far back to the seat riser, I sat in a V-8 Ford Coupe. I now have a '39 Coupe for driving around. I have since sold the body and soon will be selling the restored chassis. Model A's just were not made for tall people. Dang. Dean |

Re: 29 Sport Coupe
John,
I sent you an email about moving the seat back. If you get it, email me and I can send a picture of the service bulletin page with the instructions on how to do it. Rusty Nelson |

Re: 29 Sport Coupe
Hi
I've got the same car and I'm 6' 4" I also tried cable tying the seat springs to make them shorter which helped a bit.

Re: 29 Sport Coupe
Rusty,
Thanks I missed that! Now if I could only figure a way to add room in my 28 open pickup I'd be all set! lol |
