Default Any "Barner's" In Franklin , NC ?

While trying to pass away the winter days , I got to wondering if any Barner's are from or near Franklin , NC . That is where I was told that my "30" Town Sedan came from , around fifteen years ago . I was wondering if anyone thereabouts would remember the previous owner , and could maybe tell me anything about him . I was told his name was Clyde Bates , and he was a Minister there , but what Church I don't know . He had a daughter named Dorthy Gregory , [ married name ] . She now lives in Michigan . Any info would be of interest to me , just for the sake of knowing a little more history of my car .
Thanks

Not that I know off, but I use to do Parades there. I sold a couple of Town sedans in Raleigh area years ago. But have no idea were they are now.

You might Tar wheel A's in Raleigh.

I live just up the mountain (20 miles) from Franklin. Unfortunately I don't know him, but I'll check around.

I am from Clayton GA, 20 miles from Franklin also; family from NC. I don't recall the name, but I don't get home much anymore.

There's an address for Clyde Freeman Bates in Franklin, NC, but he died in 2005 (at 72). His wife Mildred is listed at that address. PM me and I'll give you her address and phone number.

I live in Spartanburg, South Carolina - I think you are SW of Asheville, NC. Close but not too close.

There was a Clyde Bates that died awhile back. He and his brother ran B&B Concrete. The business is still ongoing. The number is 828-524-6483. Suggest you call and see if this was the same. If so I'm sure they will be willing to give you info. Western North Carolina folks are usually very helpful ...even to outsiders...especially if you let them know you have something in common. Just don't call and immediately start saying, " I need to know....". Ask them if they have time to help someone out? It's all the difference.

I will check with my father-in-law to see if he knew him. My wife is a native of Franklin. We currently live in Canton, NC which is about 50 miles north of Franklin. It is a beautiful area but a little far for us to take our '29 Coupe in its current state.
