Question Rebuilding a Tillotson carb.

I'm wanting to rebuild a Tillotson X carb.
I ordered a rebuild kit from Macs.
It came with a new choke adjustment needle.
The diameter was too big to fit into the original
adjustment needle's housing.
I sent the kit back and now I'm going to order a
kit from another supplier. I'm trying to keep from
getting a kit that I can't use again.
Does the adjustment needle housing have to be
changed when replacing the needle, or does someone
make a kit that works with the original housing?
Thanks

Can't get by with a gasket set and needle valve Assembly?

The only problem I had was with the float valves leaking down after shut down, I ended up lapping in the old valves, I should have just purchased the main jets and gasket set from Brattons --- $10,50.
If you do not have the Tilly rebuild book this mans website is helpful.
