Any help to identify this rear window?
I bought a rear window last summer hoping it would fit one of my projects but it is the wrong one. I'd like to at least identify it so I can sell it. I'm thinking maybe from a 57 Ford hardtop. As far as I know Ford used PPG glass, and this one also says Solex on it for the green tint. It measures right around 18 3/16 tall. I'll have to pull it out of storage to get a width if needed.

Re: Any help to identify this rear window?
I like the looks of the big Merc, but washed up it would look great
The back window in the Merc looks quite a bit bigger than 18 3/16" tall tho. .

Re: Any help to identify this rear window?
It looks like rear window that will fit 55 Crown Vic, 56 Victoria (2-dr hardtop only) or Crown Vic, aslo could fit 55/56 Merc Marauder 2-dr hardtop. It will not fit any of the 56/56 sedan models.
Absolutely will not fit 1960 Mercury |

I know they called the big engine for '58 and later Mercs the Marauder engine, and in '63 1/2 they came out with a Merc Marauder bodystyle, but I can't recall a '55/'56 Merc Marauder. I'm certainly No Merc expert, so does anyone have a pic of a mid '50s Marauder ? thx. .

No such animal. '56 Mercs were Medalist, Monterey and Montclair.

Re: Any help to identify this rear window?
What he meant to say is '55/'56 Montclair which shared the same back window as the '55 Crown Vic and all '56 two door hardtops (Ford or Merc).

Re: Any help to identify this rear window?
Maybe a local auto glass shop could look at it and tell you.

Re: Any help to identify this rear window?
I don't know how a local glass shop would be able to tell me as most haven't been in business a ling time. The 2 cars I think it could be from is either a 55 Victoria, not the crown, or a 57 Ford hardtop. If anyone here has one and could take some measurements that could get me hopefully a little closer.

I don't know if this glass place will help you or not, but might be worth a try.
Get all the measurments and a good description and see if they can help you. http://www.metropartsmarket.com/glas...ass-c6s16.html .

Re: Any help to identify this rear window?
Well unfortunately metro parts wasn't much help. The one window I was thinking it could be is from a 55 Victoria, not the Crown. Anyone out there have a 55 Victoria that could get me some measurements?

I do not know much about glass, but could it be for a 55-57 bird? don't know if they are different than the regular fords of those years. just a thought.

Re: Any help to identify this rear window?
I just checked my Ford car catalog and looked at some photos and it's definitely not the T-bird. The 3 cars I am sure it's from is either the 55 Victoria, 57 hardtop, or just a standard 57 Ford car. If anyone here has one of these cars and comes across this thread let me know.
