Default Calling all Smith Air Compressor fans

The Gordon Smith air compressor was built in Bowing Green KY starting in 1932. Production of Smith converted Model A cowl units continued at least to 1948, and using Smith's own sheetmetal with Model A power until 1953. Smith used a special head which allowed the 2 inner cylinders to pump air while the outer 2 powered the unit.

Lots of these units are still around, in use and in storage. The Model A Restorer's Club chartered the Smith Motor Compressor Region in 2010. Membership is $10 per year, including a quarterly newsletter with lots of great information.

If you have a Smith or are interested in the compressors we would like to have you as a member. You can contact me at: [email protected]
