Default Inside wiring

I hope to start wiring my town sedan for the rear inside tight (Over the rear window) Is it ok to use the vinyl insulated wire. Yeah I know, "it's your car, use whatever you want!" I'm thinking of longevity. The braided cotton seems so fragile in comparison, And it seems like a huge job to fix it if it cracks or frays. Once it's in, I don't want to be taking it out, ever! What do you think? 100% no no? or it's OK to bend the restoration rules here?
