Got a set of roadster door in the shop. the original skins were pretty beat up . old brazing, dents ,dings ,oil can you name it!
![]() decided to go with the new skins because it will give a much cleaner outcome compared to trying to fix everything heres the outter skin removed from the inner. i wire wheeled the inner skin to remvoe the surface rust and fixed some pin holes in the bottom of the door but for got to take pictures of that . I primered the new skin and inner and used weld through primer on the edges where it was spot welded a few times. here is the nice clean outcome ![]() i had to weld the top corners they didnt look good put a quick dab of weld made it lok 100 times better i got the skins from snyders in ohio i believe they are from brookville they fit very very very well only place that needed trimmed was the piece that spots welds to the inner skin above the holes at the top. it was to long and was visible in the large holes ![]() i simply folded the edge over with a hammer and dolly ![]() ![]() they other door is in worse shape i will post pictures up soon of that one!
