Default 35 Directional Signal Lights

While I wait for Small's Auto Wire (company who bought Rhode Island Wiring)
to open up, I'm trying to get additional info as what needs to be done in
order to install directionals on my 35 convertible sedan. I've bought a nice set
of fog lights with brackets for the front of my car and I've been told I should be
able to use my stock tail lights for the rear. So my question is, what ends up
happening in order to be able to use the stock rear lights and will it be the
parking bulb that will be used for this purpose? Also it would be nice not to have the switch for the directions located on the column as I've also been told
there is a device (switch) that can be mounted on the under side of the instrument panel. What are there for comments about doing that?
