35 Directional Signal Lights

While I wait for Small's Auto Wire (company who bought Rhode Island Wiring)
to open up, I'm trying to get additional info as what needs to be done in
order to install directionals on my 35 convertible sedan. I've bought a nice set
of fog lights with brackets for the front of my car and I've been told I should be
able to use my stock tail lights for the rear. So my question is, what ends up
happening in order to be able to use the stock rear lights and will it be the
parking bulb that will be used for this purpose? Also it would be nice not to have the switch for the directions located on the column as I've also been told
there is a device (switch) that can be mounted on the under side of the instrument panel. What are there for comments about doing that?

Take a look at the unit offered below. I have it in my'32 and very pleased with it.

I like the look of the early VW beetle switch. No ugly hose clamp wrapped around the column like so many of the add on ones have.

I use fog lights for front also with relays as they pull a good few amps. The rear tie into the brake light system it’s the easy part.

You must run an additional wire for the brake lights so that the right side can be separated from the left side. Originally your car only has a single wire supplying both brake lights with a crossover harness at the rear of the car.

The previous owner of my car installed dual filament sockets in the rear light assembly and also in the fender mounted lights, and wired it appropriately on my ‘41.

The Volkswagen switch is an excellent idea. It looks like it could have been a Ford accessory. I used one on a '36 and a '32. You can get a wire diagram on-line if the switch does not come with one.
