Default 1940 coupe Master cylinder pedal push rod pin removal

I am replacing all brake lines, wheels cylinders, flex lines and master cylinder, my question.
Removed the return brake spring on the pin that it was connected to and cotter pin from other end. I need to clean up that area and I was going to clean up the push rod that travels in the Master cylinder. The pin will not move towards the other end of spring attachment. Any information on removal or direction the pin will go would be appreciated.
( I have sprayed with PB Blaster this evening )
