Just finished this one today. Back last year a friend came to visit and offered me stupid money for my 36 pickup. I jokingly said for way less I could build you one; he said do it! For you old timers that knew my close friend and friend to many, Roy Nacewicz; this is his son in law chip. We bought a truck and I started in February. The frame was junk and the cab was so rough it didn’t even have any rocker panels left. It looked nice as it recently had a quick bondo bucket quickie paint job. The plan was a budget friendly restoration, so some items aren’t perfect
It now sports a completely restored 40 frame with a factory from sway bar and a drake rear bar. The bed is color matched bedliner sprayed. Lincoln zephyr brakes and radial tires. The rear end now has 3.25 gears and a 39 trans with the 022a 29t gears all NOS. He wanted a flathead with more “pep” so I built a 59a with a 4-1/4” stroke .125” over and a Tony Price (fordbarn member) camshaft. I’ve driven the snot outta this thing the last week or so and it is a blast. 80mph with ease and a idle sound that makes anyone with a little testosterone stop and look. Here is a link for anyone wanting to know what Tony’s cams sound like. I have to admit I am a strictly purist but darn this thing sounds good and a Video does no justice. https://youtu.be/X4H1PM7pic4 Last edited by 35fordtn; 09-07-2022 at 08:31 PM. |
