Another project finished Just finished this one today. Back last year a friend came to visit and offered me stupid money for my 36 pickup. I jokingly said for way less I could build you one; he said do it! For you old timers that knew my close friend and friend to many, Roy Nacewicz; this is his son in law chip. We bought a truck and I started in February. The frame was junk and the cab was so rough it didn’t even have any rocker panels left. It looked nice as it recently had a quick bondo bucket quickie paint job. The plan was a budget friendly restoration, so some items aren’t perfect
It now sports a completely restored 40 frame with a factory from sway bar and a drake rear bar. The bed is color matched bedliner sprayed. Lincoln zephyr brakes and radial tires. The rear end now has 3.25 gears and a 39 trans with the 022a 29t gears all NOS. He wanted a flathead with more “pep” so I built a 59a with a 4-1/4” stroke .125” over and a Tony Price (fordbarn member) camshaft. I’ve driven the snot outta this thing the last week or so and it is a blast. 80mph with ease and a idle sound that makes anyone with a little testosterone stop and look. Here is a link for anyone wanting to know what Tony’s cams sound like. I have to admit I am a strictly purist but darn this thing sounds good and a Video does no justice. https://youtu.be/X4H1PM7pic4 |
Re: Another project finished Yeah, she's a little rowdy! :D That cam has some numbers to make the big incher sound like that. Truck looks great...I'd have a blast in that! Well done.

Re: Another project finished Great job Michael, it looks and sounds great. I am building a stock engine for my '37, but love the sound of that idle also.

Re: Another project finished Great job Michael! Great looking truck and sounds great! You built it in a year along with running your business? Want to send this old guy some of that energy? LOL

Re: Another project finished SUPER Michael. I don't know how you get these things restored in such a short time. It has taken me years on a couple of them. Of course I was working 60-80 hours a week then, and helping raise three wonderful kids. Congratulations.
