well said, my Father was part of the troops who followed in the next weeks. he was a machine gunner, part of the 42nd Rainbow Div. he has now past but his memory lives on. Incredible what these men endured for our freedom.

Respects to you late father, they were all brave boys whether they landed on the day or in the following weeks. I did a tour of Omaha and Utah beaches in 2019, I was the only non American out of 24, an amazing experience. Young people today would think the Rainbow Division was was something else.
