Thank you "19Fordy" for remembering, and for keeping this day in our thoughts & prayers. It was slightly overlooked by WH again, this second year in a row. Coop/AMERICAN . |
Re: June 6, 1944 I never forget June 6th - as my Pops was on a submarine in WWII and his stories about their escapades were something to behold.
He lied and tried to get in at 16 (they wouldn't let him), he went back a year later and lied at 17 . . . and they let him in. So many of these solders went to war as "kids" - and if they survived, came out as seasoned adults. I can't imagine being 17 years old and being on a diesel sub in the middle of the Pacific??? Countless thousands of others gave their last full measure - so we can be free and live the lives that we do. We will always owe the fighters and their families of WWII an eternal debt . . . |

Re: June 6, 1944 Freedom is Not free. Many great men and woman, throughout the years, have
gave their lives, so the people of this country can live as freely as possible. We live in one of the greatest countries ever. :) Many people, in many countries, live with hardly No Freedom, what a shame. Keep ALL people in our prayers, that they can someday enjoy true freedom. . |
