I was never impressed with the Grosse Jet (s-jet). I did a six '97 setup for a friend's 371 Olds in a '32 coupe, and there were flooding issues on two of the carbs. When I rebuilt them, I applied vacuum to the fuel inlets to check the valve closing (like I do on all carbs) and not all of the Grosse Jet valves held vacuum. I'm for conventional fuel valves for these carbs.
