Question Spark plug gap

Sorry if this has been discussed, I ran a search and didn't find anything. The "Ford Model 'A' Instruction Book" states the plugs should be gapped to .027 and Les Andrews says .035. I have found a few mentions in other threads of making sure their plugs were gapped to .035. My question is, why the discrepancy and which is correct?
