Default Oil pan drain plug mystery

I have what I believe is a 1952 V8 engine in my f1.
However the oil pan has a drain plug size of 1 1/2 inches which appears to be for a 1947-1948 pan from my research.

Is it possible that the pan is from a 48 and put on a 1952 engine?

I am rebuilding the engine which I believe last ran in 1969.

I have no idea if there are differences in the pan itself or if just the drain plug size is different.
