Have a Closed cab pickup..steering hard and it catches as one turns..QUESTION..what effect does steering wheel position have on steering ?? I may have wheel raised too high ..PS have new Teflon joints on linkage..32 backing plates and drums.

I suspect you have one or more issues with worn steering balls, and likely linkage too. I find the best thing for the Teflon inserts is to have a polished ball that is completely round. Mirror finish with a little grease is awesome here. Also, too tight on the drag link plug (A-3328) and spindle connecting rod (tie-rod) end plug will cause this. Seat the insert against the ball and turn ½ rotation. If the spring is in good shape, there is no need for being tighter. |
