Default Condenser anti-cooker. Can't tell up from down

Which way does this thing go?

I also purchased one of these, was unsure of installation and just left it off. Over a year later with the short proof condenser I havnt had any issues. think I'll just leave it off.

In picture 1 it will hold water. do it like pic 2.
Having said that you have to loosen head nuts to install it, so better drain the coolant first, then go thru a re-torque sequence.
Once installed it is hard to get at the dizzy hold down set screw
The burn-out proof condenser from the suppliers is the way to go and forget the pie-pan

I have had this thing lying around for years. In retrospect, I think I'll just toss it back in the box........rightside up o'course.

Yep, it should go as in picture 1, but I'd leave it off rather than mess with loosening head nuts. I don't know of any problems with the new good condensers.

I already have a short-proof condenser on it so I was mainly interested in placing it in the correct orientation to keep a pack of weenies from rolling off when I make a hard left.
