Default paint codes for engine green

Anyone know the PPG concepts code for engine green? Is rock moss green close?

I always buy my Ford Engine green from Hirsch Automotive products.
www.hirschauto.com
It is the closest I have seen and is also available from parts dealers but make sure you get the Hirsch product so it is correct.
If you want it in PPG Concept I would probably buy a quart and spray out a test panel and color match with you PPG dealer from there using Phrophet computer match,
Ken
Rock Moss green is another color completely.

After reading around the internet at different engine restorers I just tried Rustoleum Dark Hunter Green. It matches my other engine that was done with the Ford paint almost perfectly.I also saved some money.

Having just painted my truck gunmetal blue, I would say it is pretty close to the engine color, closer than rock moss green which would be too green. PPG will have a code for this color.

For what its worth, the right engine paint from Macs is only about $13 for a pint, which will do the engine more than once.

I've posted this formula before, but its so good and so inexpensive, that I'll do it again
Rustoelum
2 parts hunter green
1 part royal blue
1 part gloss black
I painted the engine in my 1928 station wagon with this paint in 1973 and it still looks good.
Spray can Ford engine green is not very durable.

I'll post the formula tomorrow. I'm going the the local PPG guys and get a pint of urethane paint matched to the spray can of engine green I have.
