I'm installing new exhaust gaskets on my 36 engine manifolds and would like to know if there is some type of release agent that i can put on the gaskets to keep them from sticking on the block when I remove the manifolds later. I remove the manifold every winter to install a hot air manifold and it's difficult to scrape all the gasket material that is stuck to the block.

Never seize works really well, coat both sides and they are usually reusable

Mac's sells some very nice copper exhaust manifold gaskets that can be reused many times

I agree with Dick Spadaro and Jack E/NJ. A good, inexpensive and easy answer.

I've often fitted both cast iron manifolds and headers using good old black automotive silicone in place of a gasket. Never had a problem with removal, & simply scrape the surfaces clean with a razor blade.
