Exhaust gaskets that do not stick I'm installing new exhaust gaskets on my 36 engine manifolds and would like to know if there is some type of release agent that i can put on the gaskets to keep them from sticking on the block when I remove the manifolds later. I remove the manifold every winter to install a hot air manifold and it's difficult to scrape all the gasket material that is stuck to the block.

Re: Exhaust gaskets that do not stick Never seize works really well, coat both sides and they are usually reusable

Re: Exhaust gaskets that do not stick Mac's sells some very nice copper exhaust manifold gaskets that can be reused many times

Ditto. A little never-seez goes a long long way. Jack E/NJ |

Re: Exhaust gaskets that do not stick I can not find anybody that has them. Wish I could. Sounds like a good solution.

Re: Exhaust gaskets that do not stick Did ford even use exhaust gaskets?

Re: Exhaust gaskets that do not stick I agree with Dick Spadaro and Jack E/NJ. A good, inexpensive and easy answer.

Re: Exhaust gaskets that do not stick I've often fitted both cast iron manifolds and headers using good old black automotive silicone in place of a gasket. Never had a problem with removal, & simply scrape the surfaces clean with a razor blade.
