Generator Pulley

I can't tell if this is a thread on pulley or a keyed pulley. Can somneone tell me?

Since there is no nut and no threads sticking out it should be a threaded pulley.

don't know for sure, but logic would tell me that if was threaded there would be some sort of hex arrangement welded to the front of the pulley but not the shaft so as to unthread it, otherwise a chain type wrench would be necessary, which is a possibility. and if it was was a friction fit i would need a puller to remove it.

not sure that keyed arrangement couldn't be common to both. as the key is just there to prevent rotation. it does nothing to hold a pulley on to its shaft AFAIK.

anyway, because i'm not seeing a nut, so i'd be looking in my garage for a puller of some sort.

i suspect others can be more definitive.

Disassemble the generator. Mount the armature in a vice protecting it with HDPE plastic such as a shampoo bottle or oil container, all of which are #2 plastics, etc. Use a strap wrench or an old fan belt with vice grips to unthread the pulley which you have sprayed with PB Blaster or the like ahead of time.
