I have searched for any engineering drawings that show the bolt location dimensions for the model a block. Specifically looking for hole locations to build a holding fixture to hold the block for assembly. I could use the bell housing bolt holes, but prefer to hold from the side. Should be easy to make.

I have previously made a fixture to mount on the side and connect with a conventional engine stand. If you are interested I could provide pictures and dimensions tomorrow......

I have a fixture for holding the engine on the side of the block and uses a modern engine stand. You're welcome to use it any time. Gimme a call when you're ready for it.

the advantage is that full access to the flywheel and clutch is afforded. Also included a couple of photos in use. This engine was installed with a modern head gasket not requiring sealant, and has worked perfectly since installation. I thought I saw something to this end recently on the forum.... |

I had the good fortune to see an origional KR Wilson repair stand this summer. It mounted the block by the water inlet with a suport down to the top of the oil pan bolts. We came home and made one for our engine stand. We will be using it this week.

That is neat idea. You do nice work. If I were your neighbor, we’d have to get a keg refrigerator.
Thanks for the pics. |
