That is cool, now there will be two suppliers of new blocks! If he beefs the block up to 'B' specs but keeps the outside looking 'A' we will be in heaven as far a new engine goes.

He has some really pretty patterns. He has not poured one yet. That's when the fun begins.

Terry Burtz has some really pretty patterns, too. (I have seen them.) This is a complex casting to pour, get the metal to flow where you want it, and get all the air and other gasses that come out of the metal and molds to escape (not leave big voids).

I wish them both luck because I want one!!!

I saw that he had cast one. Through the machining process he will see if there are any voids, etc. I hope he has a way to do some non-destructive testing on the first few, too, to confirm they are all sound.

Very exciting. I'm "in" for 1 or 2.

It really isn't that tough of a casting. I've made vastly tougher ones than this. My first FE block was good, my 351 Clevelands had some chaplet problems, but once I found a better chaplet than the foundries had on hand the problem was solved. I've been in the casting industry for 37 years, so I better be able to make these!

Wow! A new A block from Snyders. Hopefully it will be available soon.

[P.S.]

Interesting to note that this is the same gentleman who makes the high compression Model A heads for Snyder's. If his Model A blocks are as good as his heads, we will be in tall cotton! Very exciting times.

Keep it with three mains, maybe Model B size mains at least an option.

From reading over on the HAMB, it looks like a finished block ready to be put together will be around 2500-3k.
