In the case of the grease seals for the rear hubs, driveshaft, and axles... for modern seals, which direction does the taper go? I'm confused by what I read, and the new seals are not the same as the original leather seals, so my Ford literature is not helping.

the spring in the seal goes towards the fluid / oil.

Thanks. I should know this by now but I always need affirmation when I work on a rear axle.
