Secrets of Speed Society had an artical a few yrs back on the flywheel. I had mine cut according to there dementions. I reciently got rid of my old copys but I am sure some on has them. Iceman

Try this. Understand, there is more to it than just cutting the flywheel. It needs to be redrilled on a rotary table and balanced after.

I used the print that James has. Wish I could post mine, but that's a whole nother story! It all depends on how much you're chopping off, The flywheel that James shows is pretty radical, probably removing 25+ lbs. I only cut about 8 lbs off mine. I would have gotten more, but the lathe had no compound feed. I will say this, Indicate the FW in the Chuck carefully and balancing will be easier. There have been many discuissions about the the values off a light FW verus a heavy one. I decided to improve it only slightly . I'm not building a hot rod, just a improved version.
