lightening the flywheel dose anyone have the machinist demention's to cut the flywheel too?

Try this. Understand, there is more to it than just cutting the flywheel. It needs to be redrilled on a rotary table and balanced after.

Re: lightening the flywheel I used the print that James has. Wish I could post mine, but that's a whole nother story! It all depends on how much you're chopping off, The flywheel that James shows is pretty radical, probably removing 25+ lbs. I only cut about 8 lbs off mine. I would have gotten more, but the lathe had no compound feed. I will say this, Indicate the FW in the Chuck carefully and balancing will be easier. There have been many discuissions about the the values off a light FW verus a heavy one. I decided to improve it only slightly . I'm not building a hot rod, just a improved version.
