I gotta coupla questions:
1) Does the '33 have a drain tube? 2) If so, Does the tube drain through the firewall? There is a 1/2" hole between the throttle and choke holes on the firewall. I looked at photos on the internet but they don't show a tube yet the firewall grommet kit I got includes a drain tube., |

Does this drain tube extend down the firewall to beyond the frame? Or does it terminate AT the firewall? |

Please note that the photos in #3 and #4 are of '34 cowls. '33s do not have the screen shown in #4, nor do they have the rod that the screen attaches to. (The vent drain is the same for both model years and not affected by the presence of the screen or its attachment rod.)

David, I think you mean Photos 4 & 9 are 1934.
Photo 3 is definitely 1933. |

Trevor,
This underscores the disadvantage that the continued closure of the Benson Ford Research Center p poses for us. Of the nine '33s I've owed over the years, all but one were U.S.sourced and none of those eight cowls had screens or the rod to attach the screen. The ninth is a Canadian car and it has the screen attachment rod. Assuming that your examples are Australian, those cowls are also of Canadian manufacture, plus the delayed startup of '33 vehicle production in Australia could explain the difference in our experiences. |

![]() I added this photo as it shows the detail that Henry put into the Cowls on these old Fords. All I can say is that this is definitely a 1933 Ford. Body Number 40P125 I purchased it back in 1967. Since sold. |

Got that pesky little hose installed. Many thanks to all for taking the time to post pictures as I accept the reality of this rather insignificant and awkward looking protrusion of a tube on the firewall.

I love the manicured lawn. Wish mine looked that good. Beautiful car as well.
