Default Correct Model "A" Bumpers.

Bumpers with the correct finish, as original.

I'm thinking of making new bumper bars looking as they were, just off the assembly line. Original bumpers had the mill finish on the back, ends and edges that were pickled and unpolished. It left those surfaces with a dull finish. The faces were smoothly polished with a bright Chrome finish.

I understand they used a different Nickel process than generally used today and would be needed to replicate the bumpers original look.

Any company that does this work?

Hold on to your wallet, I think I was quoted about 1k per bar. If you're looking for fine point there are alternatives.

Need to use spring steel like original, that may complicate things.

Christensen Plating in Vernon, CA (LA) used to do the best and most correct plating on Model A bumpers. The last ones I had done by them were about $1000 per bar. I'm not sure that they are even still plating though.

1000. a bar seems pricey, BUT maybe they could be done in mass up in Canada and brought over. Cores are relatively cheap.

would there be import duty, since they would be "antiques"?
