Is the coil mesh that covers the seat bottom springs still a necessity when recovering or is the mat that comes with a Cartouche kit sufficient? If not, is there a place to purchase or a replacement?

I do not know about the Cartouche covers, I used the ones from ..........., whatever their name was that everybody used back in the day, but unfortunately it closed down. Whatever, I used the original padding and also used the padding that came with the new covers. Still working well after many years. (It's no fun getting old and can't remember. (LOL )

This is a picture of the steel mesh I was referring to. Evidently it was not something original?
